The stars, the animals and our Hospital Heroes – the spectacular evening that was Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation’s Annual Gala Dinner. Filled with goodwill and generosity, over 230 members of the Gold Coast community guests raised much needed funds to help save our native wildlife.
Held on Saturday April 29th, Sanctuary Under the Stars was a truly unique gala dinner experience. On arrival, guests were treated to up close experiences with our koalas and charmed by furry & scaly wandering wildlife. Guests then journeyed to the Wildlife Hospital to meet our dedicated staff, many of whom are volunteers, allowing a rare insight to the special role our team plays in saving Australia’s native wildlife.
A centrepiece of the evening was the amazing free flight bird show – ‘Hospital Heroes’. Created especially for the gala dinner, ‘Hospital Heroes’ highlighted the impact humans have on our native animals’ habitat.
Transformed into a fine dining spectacular, the Lorikeet Arena played host for the remainder of the night’s festivities. Conducting proceedings was emcee Ranger Stacey, of ‘Totally Wild’ fame. Our wonderful Ambassadors also joined in the fun with Casey Barnes performing his hit single ‘Just Like Magic’ and; fellow Ambassador Sally Pearson joining our live panel to regale us with her hands on experiences with volunteering at the hospital.
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation is appreciative for those that supported our fundraising efforts through raffle ticket purchases, auction wins and donations. Together with our incredible sponsors including major partner, The Star Gold Coast, you have helped continue the life-saving work carried out by our Hospital Heroes!
Thank you to everyone that supported this successful event!
