‘Snorkel’ the echidna
This week’s patient is ‘Snorkel’ a very sweet and young echidna from Springbrook. Little Snorkel was found in a creek struggling to get up on a rock. Echidnas are usually good swimmers but this little guy was having some trouble so he was admitted to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital for a check-up.
Snorkel is a little weak and needs to be fed up , he also has a fungal infection on his body. Snorkel will spend around one month in hospital getting lots of yummy gourmet echidna meals as well as special baths to clear up the infection. With a treatment plan of great food and warm baths this is going to be one pampered echidna. Once Snorkel is strong and healthy he will be released back into his natural habitat in Springbrook.
