Patient of the Week
This week’s Patient of the Week was admitted to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital presenting with neurological symptoms.
He had an injury to his foot and was unable to stand without falling forward, and it is likely that he was hit by a car because he was found on the side of the road.
This little Swamp Hen definitely gets the award for the speediest recovery because after just one night of rest in the Hospital, along with anti- inflammatory treatment and pain relief, it was a completely different Swamp Hen who leaped from his enclosure upon examination this morning!
This brave patient will spend the next few days recovering in our Waterbirds Rehabilitation Facility, until he is 100% ready to be returned to the wild. A little bit of rest, relaxation, and yummy healthy breakfasts will have him good to go in no time!
