Meet Hendrix the Koala Part 2
Read Hendrix story from the beginning in Part 1.
Injuries like the ones that Hendrix has sustained can require quite a lengthy period of rehabilitation. He has had a relatively good week and we are now able to remove his intravenous catheter which is why he has a small green bandage on his arm. This catheter was being used to administer fluid therapy and pain relief but now that we have stabilised Hendrix and he is eating well he no longer requires this type of therapy and we can give him oral pain relief.
Hendrix is currently being housed inside the Wildlife Hospital so that we can monitor him closely, I am hopeful that by next week’s update we have moved him outside into our koala rehabilitation facility. Please stay tuned each week as we continue to follow the story of this very handsome koala, he is not only beautiful but has a very sweet nature. Let’s keep those fingers crossed that he continues to improve!
