Meet Hendrix the Koala Part 4
For all of you that have been following Hendrix’s story he has had a good week and is still eating really well. As predicted his wrist is continuing to give him some trouble and rehabilitation for this will be lengthy, he is otherwise in good health.
Hendrix has now been at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital for over three weeks and no longer requires our medical attention at this stage. It is likely that Hendrix will go into care at Friends of the Koala for rehabilitation as they have a less clinical setting which will be nice for Hendrix during this rehabilitation period.
We will continue to follow Hendrix’s progress and are likely to see him again in around a months’ time. Stay tuned as I will continue to provide regular updates on this very special boy. We will miss Hendrix but moving these koalas on for rehabilitation once they no longer require our medical intervention is very important as it makes an enclosure available for new koala patients who require treatment. He will be in great care with Friends of the Koala who are a not for profit care group completely run by very special and very experienced volunteers.
